LBD with a Twist
You guys!! It has been a year (and a day) since I started my blog!! I have been so busy lately that I completely forgot that my blog went live on March 15th of last year. And what a year it has been!
Starting this blog has been one of the most amazing experiences, and I am so happy every day that I finally took that leap of faith last year. Doing something related to fashion has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. However, working in finance and sales, I realized that a career change to the fashion industry might not be a viable option at this stage of my life. This blog has given me a chance to live out one of my dreams. Most importantly, it allows me to do it in a way that feels the most natural to me. This blog has allowed me to have a voice and to highlight everything that I love and have interests in, without having external influences dictating what I do or say.
In addition to being my creative outlet, this blog has led to some amazing opportunities and introduced me to even more amazing people. I have had the chance to team up with brands that I have admired for years, as well as learn of new ones that quickly became some of my favorites. I also feel like I have an entirely new group of friends! Don't get me wrong...I love all of my friends from college, work, and growing up, but the group of bloggers that I have met through this experience are a little bit different. We are all similar in the sense that we have a passion, and we are actively working on it while trying to share it with the world. They are the most supportive and collaborative people I have ever known. They understand the trials and tribulations of being a blogger more than someone who is not. So for any of you who are reading this that I have connected with through blogging in some way...thank you!
I also can't forget to thank everyone who is closest to me. Whether you are my family, friends, or my ever patient co-workers who I bug to like my Instagram posts, I thank you as well! Six Feet In Heels would not exist without the support of all of you. And it definitely would not exist without my wonderful photographer, Emily. You're the best!!
Since this post is all about celebrating, I wanted to highlight this fun and flirty LBD (little black dress if you didn't know what that means)! Every girl needs an LBD, or two, or three hanging in her closet. This is not news! This is probably one of the first fashion rules you all learned growing up that stuck. That is why I have always thought you can't just stop at one!
I was really drawn to this one because of the fun design with the ruffles and statement sleeves. This is the perfect dress to wear for a date night, or a girls night out. Whenever I have it on, I actually cannot help but dance! I reminds me of those dresses we wore as little girls. You know the ones I am talking about....the ones that you would spin around in just to make the skirt twirl. That is how I feel wearing this dress.
