Pastel Perfection
Happy Friday everyone!! I just could not wait to share this look with all of you, and I figured what better day to have you share in my excitement than to have it go live on the best day of the work week! Keep reading for more on today's look, as well as one of my shopping secrets...
Spring is coming! I know that it may not feel that way, but warmer weather will be here before we know it (heres hoping some of my end of the week optimism will rub off on you). With the new season, comes the time for a wardrobe refresh. I always love this time of year because I feel like I can start injecting some color into my wardrobe again. I know, I know...I don't really wear tons of color. However, pastels are one of my exceptions. They are colors, obviously, but with an understated tone, which is perfect for my wardrobe and overall style. That was why I just had to have the pale blue sweater, light wash jeans, and pink clutch you see on this post as soon as I saw them!
Now, pastels are not the most groundbreaking thing to hit spring fashion. We have all probably been donning the pretty colors ever since our first Easter Sunday (if you celebrate, that is). My argument though, is why mess with a classic? Just like a little black dress is the perfect go-to for a cocktail party, so are pastels when it comes to brightening up your wardrobe come spring!
This sweater from Make Me Chic is practically perfect in my eyes because of all of the boxes it checks...pale blue (love this color), cut-out shoulders (on trend), and it has a turtleneck (one of my favorites)! Seriously, you can't do much better!
The pink clutch is from a locally based Massachusetts company, The Paper Store. I, along with some other awesome Boston bloggers, was invited to get a sneak peak of their spring line and all of their forecasted trends for the season. I was immediately drawn to the clutch when I was in their showroom. So much so, that I hopped in my car and headed to their store closest to me so i could buy it as soon as it hit stores! Check out everything they have to offer. The prices cannot be beat, and some of their pieces are seriously adorable!
Lastly, the light wash jeans and my shopping secret I promised you! If you are like me, then you probably hate shopping for jeans. I have tried so many different brands over the years. I will admit that I am guilty for dropping way too much money on a pair of designer jeans just because I thought they fit well in the dressing room.
Well, last year I finally found a solution to this problem! The solution comes in the form of Old Navy jeans! If you have read any of my previous posts, you've probably noticed that I am always wearing/tagging Old Navy jeans in them. They are the best! They fit great, are super comfortable, are on trend, and don't even get me started on the price! I have never paid more than $20 for a pair because Old Navy is constantly having sales. One tip on them is to size down. I have found that the sizing in store does run big. Don't worry if the jeans are a little tight to start out because they will definitely stretch out!
So, I'll stop blabbing now and let you get on with the good stuff! If you like what you see, then check out below to shop pieces from this look!

Unfortunately, the sweater I am wearing has sold out in the blue color :( I've linked the same sweater in black (one of my all time favorite colors!) below. You can also shop other on trend sweaters at Make Me Chic!
The shoes I am wearing are an old pair that I have had for forever. It was really hard to find a similar pair that wasn't outrageously expensive, but I loved the Sam Edelman sandals that I found below! They come in a bunch of different colors, but the yellow spoke to me for this post!
