Tied Up
Fall is officially here! With the change of season comes the need to change up your outfits. It is finally time to break out all of your wardrobe favorites...jackets, boots, sweaters, scarves!!
I do not know if everyone else feels this way, but fall is one of my absolute favorite seasons, especially here in New England. I often find myself filling my social calendar to the brim this time of year, as to capitalize on the amazing weather that only seems to last a few short weeks. As life goes, with added social events, comes the want/need for adding to my fall clothing line-up.
When this time of year comes, I tend to reach into my wardrobe for my favorite fall staples. While I have some go to pieces that I bring back every year, I often feel as though some pieces just aren't as fresh after sitting in storage for the last six months. This is in part due to the fact that they have been packed away. It is also due to the fact that trends change, and the clothes that I liked last year don't always add up to my current style standards.
Now, I know what you are all thinking...that this "dilemma" provides me with the perfect excuse to go shopping. However, building up a new season's wardrobe can be expensive. As a twenty-something with bills and student loans to pay, as I am sure many of you can relate to, it can be difficult to fulfill our wants while still meeting our needs. As much as I would love to fill my closet with nothing but cashmere, leather and the new Stuart Wietzman collection (have you seen all of the new velvet booties?!?!), I need to think about feeding myself and paying rent first.
This is where one of my not so secret weapons comes into play. I have sung their praises before, and will continue to do so as long as my mild obsession remains. If you have not yet checked out the WhoWhatWear Collection at Target, then you have been living under a rock and seriously depriving yourself. This collection offers up on-trend street style at the amazing prices that you really can't beat!
In this week's post, my top and my bag are from the collection (and unfortunately no longer available online). Both of these were picked up at less than $30, making them fall well within my budget. Besides the price, one of the best things about both pieces is that I can incorporate them into so many different looks. Thus, my dilemma of needing a closet pick-me-up can be easily solved, and my rent check will be paid on time!
