Kaleidoscope
One of the many reasons I started this blog was so that I could take some fashion risks. I wanted to showcase outfits that I would not normally wear in my day to day life. Being that I tend to be in business professional attire, one thing I don't tend to wear is anything too revealing. Given this fact, I wanted to have a little fun with this weeks blog post. Ok, so I know that this is not the most "revealing" outfit, but for me it is. It is very rare that you will find me in a crop top and short shorts. It is also rare for me to be found in bright colors and prints. But, as I said earlier, this blog is all about having some fun and taking some risks with my clothes!
I have had both the shorts and top as a part of my wardrobe for a while, but I tend to wear them with more subdued pieces. I will usually pair these bright shorts with a simple top, and to be honest I don't really get too much wear out of them. As for the top, I will throw this on with a pair of high waisted jeans, as to have minimal midriff showing.
This time around I threw caution to the wind, and boy was I glad that I did. Wearing something so different from what is in my comfort zone turned out to be a lot of fun! I found that I had an extra little pep in my step. Maybe this is not an outfit that I will wear again, but it was fun to be different for an afternoon. I would 100% encourage every one of you to go into your closets and find those pieces you don't wear too often, or try a trend/silhouette that you normally wouldn't wear. Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as I did!
Everything that I am wearing in this post, as mentioned, I have had in my closet for a while. The shorts are from J. Crew and the top is from Zara.
